The Poco M8s 5G has recently debuted in select global markets as the latest budget in M-series lineup. While the company has not officially confirmed its India launch yet, a new leak suggests that the smartphone could arrive in the country soon. Here’s what we know so far.
According to a tip shared on X by account Tech_Voyager @rajAnoop_, Poco M8s 5G is heading to India sooner than later.
The Indian variant of the Poco M8s 5G is expected to retain some of the key specifications from the global model. The leak specifies that the handset will feature the same Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and a massive 7,000mAh battery.
As of now, there is no official timeline or confirmation regarding the India launch of the Poco M8s 5G.
To get an idea of what to expect from the Indian version, here’s a look at the specifications of the globally launched model.
The global version of Poco M8s 5G features a 6.9-inch Full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) 8-bit DotDisplay with up to 144Hz refresh rate on supported apps, 374 ppi pixel density, up to 288Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 850 nits peak brightness. The display also covers 85 percent NTSC colour gamut and comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly and Flicker Free certifications.
It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm built on a 6nm process with a peak clock speed of 2.3GHz. It is paired with an unspecified Adreno GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The phone is a dual-SIM budget smartphone that runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 and carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
For photography, the phone features a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and 5P lens alongwith an additional unspecified secondary sensor. On the front, it houses an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.
The handset packs a large 7,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging and 18W wired reverse charging.
The Poco M8s 5G is globally available in Black and White colour options in global markets. Pricing starts at $189 (approximately Rs. 18,000) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The higher-end model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at $219 (roughly Rs. 20,000).
As of now, details regarding the India launch are limited. But we can expect more details to surface in the coming weeks.
