Redmi has started teasing a new smartphone launch in India, but most details are still unknown. The teaser, seen on Amazon India and Redmi’s social media, suggests a performance-focused phone that might introduce a new series. The teaser shows the text “Redmi S,” leading many to think Redmi could be planning a new lineup for Indian buyers.
The official name of the smartphone is still unknown, but the teaser highlights speed, power, and performance. Because of this, many users on X (formerly Twitter) think the new device could be part of Redmi’s Turbo lineup, which recently grew in China with the Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max.
The teaser page on Amazon India shares very little information so far. Still, the “Redmi S” branding has caught the attention of smartphone fans. Redmi hasn’t said if “S” means a new series or just a model, but it looks like the company might be planning to update its lineup in India.
The teaser also uses language focused on performance, speed, and gaming features. This has fuelled more rumours that the new device could be linked to the Turbo series launched in China.
Redmi recently launched the Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max in China, both offering strong hardware and competitive prices. In the past, Redmi hasn’t brought Turbo-branded phones to India under its own name. Some Turbo models have instead appeared globally as Poco or other Xiaomi sub-brands.
The new teaser has restarted talk about whether Redmi will finally launch Turbo devices directly in India. There’s still no official word, but experts think Redmi might be aiming at performance-focused users and mobile gamers in the mid-range market.
Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip, while Turbo 5 Max uses a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor. In terms of camera, both devices sport a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and 8MP ultrawide lens, along with 20MP selfie shooters.
When it comes to battery, the Turbo 5 has a 7560 mAh battery, whereas the Turbo 5 Max has a 9000 mAh battery. Both smartphones support 100W fast charging.
Right now, Redmi hasn’t shared the launch date, price, or full specs for the new smartphone coming to India. Since teasers are already up on Amazon India, more details should be out soon. If the rumours are true, Redmi could soon bring a new lineup to India’s performance smartphone market.
Redmi has teased a new performance-focused smartphone in India, but the official name and specifications have not been revealed yet.
The “Redmi S” branding on the Amazon microsite suggests that Redmi may introduce a new smartphone series in India.
Users on X are speculating that the teased device could be part of the Redmi Turbo series because the teaser heavily focuses on speed and performance.
