Samsung’s upcoming budget smartphone named Samsung Galaxy A17 was leaked in a fresh batch of renders, offering our first clear look at its design. The phone appears to continue Samsung’s clean and modern aesthetic, despite being positioned firmly in the entry-level segment. Here’s what we know so far.

The newly surfaced renders, shared by AndroidHeadlines, showcase a minimalist design with flat edges, a subtle rear camera layout and a streamlined build that looks inspired by Samsung’s higher-end devices. The Galaxy A17 is expected to be one of the most affordable phones in Samsung’s lineup this year.
A notable design update compared to the Galaxy A16 is the black bar connecting the rear camera lenses, a styling cue seen earlier on models like the Galaxy A36 and A56.
On the front, the phone retains the familiar teardrop (waterdrop) notch for the selfie camera and a slightly thicker bottom bezel. Dimensions are reportedly unchanged at 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9mm, but the redesigned camera housing may prevent Galaxy A16 cases from fitting the new model properly.
Interestingly, the leaked renders show the upcoming Galaxy A17 in only two colour options with the lighter colour variant only shown in one image.
Samsung is reportedly preparing two versions of the Galaxy A17, a 4G model and a 5G variant. Back in May 2025, the 4G version appeared on Geekbench and revealed a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, 4GB of RAM and Android 15.
Meanwhile, the 5G model was initially rumoured to pack an Exynos 1330 chip with 8GB of RAM, but the latest update suggests an upgrade to the more powerful Exynos 1380 processor.
The Galaxy A17 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP triple rear camera system with 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lenses and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. All of this could come at a starting price under $200, making it a solid choice in the affordable phone market.
With an official announcement likely around the corner, we can expect Samsung to start teasing the Galaxy A17 soon.
