The official teaser showcases the Vivo S2 in black and white colour options with a glossy rear panel. However, tipster PassionateGeekz have revealed official-looking renders of the upcoming phone in three colour variants named Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze and Silk White.
The smartphone features a horizontal pill-shaped camera module housing a dual rear camera setup. On the front, the display has a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, giving the device a modern look.
According to Vivo, the S-series is returning to India to cater to younger consumers who see smartphones as tools for creativity, self-expression, and everyday lifestyle. The company says the lineup will primarily focus on design and imaging.
Vivo S2 Expected Specifications
Although Vivo has not officially revealed the hardware specifications, previous leaks suggest the Vivo S2 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo octa-core chipset.
The handset is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch curved pOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to pack a 7,050mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging.
For photography, the Vivo S2 is rumoured to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 primary camera paired with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor on the rear. It is also expected to include a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Earlier promotional material had also highlighted 4K video recording support from both the front and rear cameras.
The smartphone is further tipped to come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, offering improved durability.
The Vivo S2 will also mark the return of Vivo’s S-series in India. The company last launched an S-series smartphone, the Vivo S1, in the country back in 2019. With the official debut now just days away, Vivo is expected to reveal more details about the smartphone at the launch event on August 6.
