OpenAI has rolled out a major update for ChatGPT. The company has introduced multi-app integrations that allow users to directly interact with popular services like Spotify, Canva, Figma, and several others, all without leaving the chat window.
Announcing the update on X (formerly Twitter), OpenAI said, “You can now chat with apps in ChatGPT.”
With this new capability, users can now perform a variety of cross-platform tasks, such as creating Spotify playlists, designing visuals in Canva, or editing Figma files, right from within ChatGPT. This marks a significant step forward in transforming ChatGPT from a simple AI chatbot into a multi-functional productivity platform.
The new integrations bring a wide range of use cases across work, entertainment, and creativity. Here’s a quick glimpse of what users can do with this integration –

Spotify – Users can ask ChatGPT to create or edit playlists, find specific songs, or even recommend music based on mood or activity. Sten Garmark, Spotify’s SVP and Global Head of Consumer Experience, shared his excitement about the partnership. Garmark note, “Spotify’s vision has always been to be everywhere you are. By bringing Spotify into ChatGPT, we’re creating a powerful new way for fans to connect with the artists and creators they love conversationally, whenever inspiration strikes.”

Figma – Designers can now collaborate on files, adjust layouts, or brainstorm UI ideas directly within ChatGPT.
Expedia and Booking.com – These integrations make travel planning easier, users can refine their search results using natural language, view destinations on maps or carousels, and streamline trip organisation.
Other apps – ChatGPT now also connects with Zapier, Slack, and Google Drive, broadening its utility for workflow automation, communication, and file management.
Alongside these integrations, OpenAI has also introduced a preview of its new Apps SDK, which will enable third-party developers to build custom integrations for ChatGPT. The SDK is built on Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) and comes with developer documentation with broader access expected later this year.
The new multi-app functionality is currently available to ChatGPT Pro users, who already have access to GPT-5 and the latest tools. Users can activate these integrations directly from the ChatGPT interface and grant permission for specific actions.
OpenAI confirmed that it plans to expand access to free users and add more supported apps in the coming months. This signals the next evolution of ChatGPT as a central hub for both creativity and productivity.
