HMD is reportedly gearing up to strengthen its position in the budget smartphone segment in India with the launch of HMD Crest 2 Pro. The brand has not yet confirmed the device or its specs as of now. But a new leak has revealed key specifications of the device suggesting notable upgrades over the HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max. Here’s what we know so far.
Tipster HMD_MEME’S @smashx_60 on X recently posted details of the upcoming HMD Crest 2 Pro with an image that looked like an official render. Before we get to the specs, let’s look at the design.

The image shared in the X post suggests that the overall look remains similar to its predecessors. The bezel size appears largely unchanged including a slightly thicker chin. However, there may be minor refinements to the square-shaped camera module on the back.
According to the post, the phone is expected to feature a larger 6.78-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. This is an upgrade over the 6.67-inch display seen on the Crest and Crest Max models. The refresh rate is also tipped to increase to 120Hz, compared to 90Hz on the previous generation, which should result in smoother scrolling and improved animations.
The smartphone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. While it may not be designed for heavy gaming or intensive workloads, it should handle everyday tasks such as calling, messaging, online payments and video streaming without issues.
Battery life is expected to be a major highlight of the HMD Crest 2 Pro. The device is tipped to pack a massive 6,000mAh battery, which would be the largest battery used by HMD so far. It is also expected to support 33W fast charging.
On the camera front, the HMD Crest 2 Pro is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel secondary lens and a 2-megapixel auxiliary camera. For selfies, the device is expected to sport a 50-megapixel front camera.
From everything we know so far, HMD Crest 2 Pro appears to be aimed at offering a balanced experience in the budget segment. There is currently no official confirmation regarding the pricing or launch date of the HMD Crest 2 Pro. However, leaked specifications suggest the smartphone can be priced under ₹20,000 in the Indian market.
