With iPhone 13 launch, Apple discontinues its ‘most affordable’ iPhone

Following the launch of iPhone 13 series, tech giant Apple has discontinued some older iPhone models in India. The iPhones that the company has dropped this time include iPhone XR, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. These iPhones seems to have been removed from the Apple online store to make room for the newly launched iPhone 13 series.

iPhone XR was launched in the year 2018 and it has been a popular model in the country as it hit the sweet spot in terms of price and value. In fact, this is the iPhone that pushed many Android users move to iPhones. It has now been delisted from the Apple website. This is something the Cupertino based tech giant has done previously as well. When it announced the iPhone 12 series last year, Apple had discontinued the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max models.

The discontinued models, that is, iPhone XR, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro will continue to be available on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart till the stocks last. Apple’s current lineup now includes the iPhone SE, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, and the iPhone 13 series.

Apple has also slashed the price of the iPhone 12 across the globe. The 64GB of iPhone variant is now priced at Rs 65,900, the device was launched at Rs 79,900. The price of the iPhone 12 128GB has also been reduced. It now retails at Rs 70,900, the model was previously being sold for Rs 84,900. The 256GB of the model has also received a price cut. You can now get the device for Rs 80,900.
