Apple’s iPhone 17 family is getting closer to its big reveal, and this time, the colour lineup might steal the spotlight. Leaks suggest the series won’t just revisit fan-favourite shades from the past, it could also introduce some striking newcomers. Here’s everything we have been hearing about the upcoming colours so far.
The standard iPhone 17 is expected to ship in five colour choices, which are Purple (with a possible pink hue), Green, Blue, Black, and White. Both Purple and Green or at least one of them are tipped to make a comeback, with Green rumoured to be richer and more saturated.
Blue has varied in tone across past generations, while Black and White remain dependable neutral staples. A Grey option has surfaced in rumours too, but it’s unclear if it will join this lineup, the Pro models, or skip the 2025 release entirely. Expect aluminium edges to frame the device, as in previous years.
For the sleeker iPhone 17 Air, Apple could be leaning toward a softer, more elegant palette. We are expecting Light Blue, Light Gold, Black, and Silver.
Light Gold is expected to deliver a subtle metallic sheen, while Light Blue may recall the airy Sky Blue of older models. Black and Silver continue to offer timeless appeal. These finishes could be paired with titanium edges, similar to those on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will reportedly share four shades. These would be Orange, Dark Blue, Silver, and Black.
Orange is set to be the head-turner of the bunch, possibly the boldest hue Apple has ever put on a Pro device. Dark Blue adds a deep, sophisticated look, Silver gives a crisp metallic finish, and Black keeps things sharp and professional.
Grey is still undecided and it could appear on any model or not at all this year. One more change is that even if you pick the same colour as last year’s Pro, it may look different, as Apple is expected to switch from titanium to aluminium for the frame.
