Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G will launch in India on February 27 at 12 noon. The company has started teasing both smartphones following the recent releases of the Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A06 5G.
Briefing about the phones, Samsung said, “Designed for young consumers, Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G smartphones will offer an impressive combination of style and cutting-edge innovations. Both Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G will feature an all-new design with a refreshed colour palette and enhanced finish, making them visually appealing and trendy. Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G will be sleek and lightweight.”
“The two smartphones will come with segment-leading features ensuring newer possibilities for every Indian,” the brand also added.
Here’s what we know about the phones so far.
The Galaxy M06 5G (model number SM-M166P/DS) was recently spotted on Samsung India’s support page and also appeared in a Geekbench listing last month.
According to the listing, the phone will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, 8GB of RAM, and will run Android 14 with One UI 6.
These specs closely match the Galaxy A16, which launched back in October. While the teaser shows a similar flash placement, the camera design is different.
The Galaxy M06 5G is expected to be similar to the Galaxy F06 5G featuring the Dimensity 6300 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM and running Android 15 with One UI 7. Samsung is likely to offer four generations of OS upgrades and four years of security updates for these phones.
